You want to do something for your reputation? Now you certainly think of trying to reach masses of people, that is certainly false. There are for sure people who think steadily of increasing the own influence and attention.
- Build your brand
First, you should ask yourself: “What do people think of when they think of me?” Usually, most people would come up with answers like: smart, intelligent, being an expert, and much more. However, how can those attributes help you reach millions of people? And reputation is not about trying to reach millions of people. Our qualities must be connected with our brand, with our character and with our attitude, with our competency and with our integrity, with our credibility and with trust, that reputation can be extended.
Trying to extend the own reputation is not only about: “How do I want to be known for?”
When people see us from another angle, when our brand has another image, then we are perceived differently than desired. Establishing the desired brand image is often not possible.
Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.
- Become an expert
Important is, that you are authentic, stand for what you say, convince with integrity, are consistent in your behavior, that your brand delivers the needed trust and relevance and that you are an expert.
Being seen as expert is an important key element for your reputation. When people find the expert they are looking for, they become loyal to you. Important is: Walk, talk and behave like the expert you’ve become.
Even being an expert, you must consistently prove your “value” in front of others.
Your personal brand is a promise to your clients… a promise of quality, consistency, competency, and reliability.
- Invest in profitable relationships
What is very important, too, is that we steadily invest in our relationships with others! Most people don’t know how valuable the own network is. Be sure, that your relationships lead to enriching moments and make you successful! Wealth is not only about money, it is also about “wonderful” relationships. Use this “wealth” of your relationships to market yourself! Build trust and extend your connections! You should be having a minimum of three conversations per day if you want to extend your reach. Make a list of the most profitable people in your life. By doing this, your unprofitable relationships will more and more fade away. Winners and losers never fit together.
People do business with those they know, like, and trust.
If people like you they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.
- Be sure that you have your story
Important for your reputation is having “your” story. People want to relate to human experiences. They are curious, they want to learn, want to read something. Once you publish your personal story, people feel connected with you, with your brand. The best story connects people emotionally, mentally and spiritually. What’s your story?
