BRIT Awards 2016 Recap and Full Winning List


The 2016 BRIT Awards took place in London to honor the achievements of British singers, groups, and songwriters, and more.

The night kicked off with Coldplay’s colorful rock ‘n’ roll who win the British group award, the successful group won the same award in 2001, 2003 and 2012.

The the 36th annual Brit Awards big winner is, “Adele”, who took four awards including “biggest prize, British album of the year”.

“To come back after so long away and be so warmly received is really lovely. Thank you so much. And to all the other girls that are nominated, thank you for letting me be in your company. You’re all amazing,” Adele said collecting the award for best female, she took a moment to publicly support singer Kesha.

The award for British artist video of the year went to One Direction, the British Male Solo Artist award went to James Bay took home after performing “Love Yourself” alongside Justin Bieber. International Female Solo Artist went to Björkwon, Tame Impala took home International Group and Halseybuds Catfish & the Bottlemen won the fan-voted British Breakthrough act.

All performances were on fire including Bieber, who brought the flames out for “Sorry.” Jess Glynne’s set proved the woman’s got pipes, Rihanna ripped through a medley with SZA and Drake and Little Mix brought out the big drums (not guns) for their ’80s-fueled hit “Black Magic.”
