There are so many drones in the sky more than we think; Nearly 300,000 does  have been registered with the FAA since its started requiring drones owners to register their drones with weight between 0.55 and 55 pounds.

“The registration numbers we’re seeing so far are very encouraging, “Michael Huerta – FAA Administrator  said in a statement. “We’re working hard to build on this early momentum and ensure everyone understands the registration requirement.”

In Dec 2016. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that US residents must register their drones before they can fly them outdoors by February 19. Operators must be over the age of 13. Application were free in the first month of registration and now it cost $5. The registration lasts for three years.

Earlier the FAA reports that more than 45,000 drones have been registered in the first two days.

With drones greater than 55 pounds that uses commercially , owners must register their drones by paper form. The FAA said it will open the online registration to commercial operators by March 21.
